And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
