The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 "So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
