3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
