We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And then the Trumpet was blown. This is the day of the promised chastisement. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And his companion will say: 'This is that which I have present' 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 He will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning. 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
