NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, 17 He uttereth no word but there is with him an observer ready. 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!" 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 and has set up another deity with Allah. Hurl him into the grievous torment.” 26 ۞ His [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error." 27 Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat. 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
