Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
