The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
