The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 Living therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
