The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and its heat and brightness, 1 by the moon, which follows it, 2 By the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory; 3 The night when it covers him over, 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it 7 And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy, 11 Behold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety). 12 The Messenger of God told them, "This is a she-camel, belonging to God. Do not deprive her of her share of water". 13 But they belied him, and hamstrung her. So their Lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
God the Almighty always says the truth.
