Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
