The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Yet man behaves arrogantly, 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
