Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha-Mim 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); 10 That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 in order that you might gain mastery over them, and that, whenever you have mastered them, you might remember your Sustainer's blessings and say: "Limitless in His glory is He who has made [all] this subservient to our use - since [but for Him,] we would not have been able to attain to it. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
