And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 And when he comes before Us, he shall say: 'Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts' Evil is the companion. 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 Even if We take you away from the world, We shall surely take vengeance on them 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
