Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
AS FOR THOSE who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God - all their [good] deeds will He let go to waste; 1 whereas those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, and have come to believe in what has been bestowed from on high on Muhammad - for it is the truth from their Sustainer - [shall attain to God's grace:] He will efface their [past] bad deeds, and will set their hearts at rest. 2 That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, and have given them their dowries, taking (them) in marriage, not fornicating nor taking them for paramours in secret; and whoever denies faith, his work indeed is of no account, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers. 3 So when you confront the disbelievers, strike at their necks; until when you have slain them in plenty, tie them up firmly; then after that, you may either release them as a favour or take ransom, until the war lays down its ordeal; this is it; and had Allah willed He Himself could have taken revenge from them, but this is to test some of you with others; and Allah will surely never waste the deeds of those who were killed in His way. 4 He will guide them and improve their condition. 5 And He will admit them into Paradise – they have been made familiar with it. 6 O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. 7 As to those who disbelieve, perdition lies in store for them and Allah has reduced their works to nought. 8 That is because they hated what Allah has sent down, so He annulled their deeds. 9 ۞ Have they not travelled then on the earth so that they might see how hath been the end of those before them! Allah annihilated them. And for the infidels theirs shall be the like fate therefore. 10 That is because Allah is the patron of those who believe, and because the infidels! no patron is theirs. 11
