The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability. 42 Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed]? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, 'We are a congregation that shall be succoured?' 44 The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee. 45 Aye! the Hour is their appointed term, and the Hour shall be far more grievous and far more bitter. 46 The evil-doers are victims of error and madness. 47 The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" 48 We have indeed created all things by measure; 49 Our commandment is but one word, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember? 51 Whatever they have done has been recorded in the Books (records of the deeds). 52 everything, be it great or small, is recorded. 53 Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers, 54 In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour). 55
