Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden on high, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
