The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
