The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say thou: "Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil)." 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
