He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing and joyful, 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
