The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 As they sat around it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Honorable Owner of the Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
