Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In the high empyrean, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
