Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 In her neck is a twisted rope of Masad (palm fibre). 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
