The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are united, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
