The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great news - 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 HAVE WE NOT made the earth a resting-place [for you,] 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
