O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
