Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 And we were wont to sit on seats therein to listen; but whosoever listeneth now findeth for him a dartin meteor in wait. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 The mosques are for God's worship -- so do not invoke anyone else along with God -- 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
