Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Produce, then, that divine writ of yours, if you are speaking the truth! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
Almighty God's Truth.
