Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
