The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Did We not make the earth a spreading, 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
