Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the white forenoon 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan, so provided you shelter? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
