Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
