The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 A spring of which the [righteous] servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 [Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude. 9 Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 since its [blissful] shades will come down low over them, and low will hang down its clusters of fruit, most easy to reach. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall surround them, waiting upon them; when you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 they will wear green garments of fine silk and rich brocade. They will be adorned with silver bracelets. And their Lord will give them a pure drink. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22
