Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Rivalry in worldly increase distracteth you 1 until you reach your graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 No! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty... 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
