He brought drowsiness upon you to give you His reassurance and sent down water from the sky upon you, so that He might thereby purify you and remove Satan's pollution from you, and make your hearts strong and your feet firm. 11 Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): "I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them." 12 That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger. And whoever opposes Allah and His Messenger - indeed, Allah is severe in penalty. 13 That is your punishment, taste it then; and know that for those who deny the truth there is the punishment of the Fire. 14 O ye who believe! when ye meet the Unbelievers in hostile array, never turn your backs to them. 15 Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless manoeuvring for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey's end. 16 So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy), but it was Allah Who smote, and that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 17 This, and that Allah is the weakener of the struggle of the unbelievers. 18 If ye besought a judgement then surely a judgement hath come unto you. And if ye desist it will be better for you; and if ye return We will return; and your host shall avail you not, although numerous it be; and know that verily Allah is with the believers. 19
