Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send the heaven upon you copiously; 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 God made you grow from the earth. 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 God has spread out the earth 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
