The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human being 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
