Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such), Destination. 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 Well-nigh it bursteth with rage. So oft as a company is cast thereinto, the keepers thereof will ask them: came there not unto you a warner? 8 They say: Yea, verily, a warner came unto us; but we denied and said: Allah hath naught revealed; ye are in naught but a great error. 9 And they will say, “Had we listened or understood, we would not have been among the people of hell.” 10 And they will admit their sin, so [it is] alienation for the companions of the Blaze. 11 As for those who fear their Lord in the unseen will have forgiveness and a rich reward. 12 And whather ye keep your discourse secret or publish it, verily He is the Knower of that which is in the breasts. 13 Does He not know, Who created? And He is the Knower of the subtleties, the Aware. 14
