NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 Lo, the agony of death has indeed come with the Truth. That is what you had sought to avoid. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 Assuredly thou wast in neglect thereof; now We have removed from off thee thy veil, so thy sight Today is piercing. 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 (And it is said): Do ye twain hurl to hell each rebel ingrate, 24 “The one who excessively prevented from virtue, the transgressor, the doubtful.” 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
