The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
