Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 labouring, weary, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 And cushions ranged 15 and outspread carpets. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
