Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for one who gives [to others] and fears [God], 5 And accepts the best, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects the best, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
