Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
