The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] lined up in rows 1 By the angels driving away. 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
