And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
