So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 we are the rangers, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 will certainly be victorious 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
