Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and the partitioners, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
