Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
