Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 Then, on that day will the Event befall. 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty Garden 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
