Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Keep watch all the night except some, 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 or a little more, but recite the Quran slowly and distinctly. 4 We are about to reveal to you a mighty word. 5 Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 So remember the name of thy Lord and devote thyself with a complete devotion - 8 He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god except Him. Take Him for your Guardian. 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 And food that will stick in the throat, and painful torment 13 on the Day the earth and mountains shall shake and the mountains crumble into shifting sand dunes. 14 We have sent you a Messenger, who will witness your deeds, just as We sent a Messenger to the Pharaoh. 15 But the Pharaoh disobeyed the apostle; so We seized him with a grievous punishment. 16 So how will you save yourselves, if you disbelieve, on a day that will turn children old? 17 The heaven will split asunder with its grief; the promise of Allah will surely occur. 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19
