The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
